Loft apartment in an old school building

Photographer Marjike Aerden was taken in at the first sight of the loft-apartment - with its four meter high ceilings, light filled rooms and white walls -- in an old Amsterdam school building. Nevertheless, she needed time to settle in; the renovation by minimalist architect Jen Alkema was so perfect that it took a while until she commanded the space.
