An eccentric house built with Aluminium sheets. This house was designed to be comfortable inside and to blend with the outside. Located in La Barra Punta del Este, Uruguay this house called “Fuerte Apache” (Fort Apache) has a unique identity because of the materials used its decoration and quirky details. As the house stands on a corner and the plot is 400 m2 they decided to make a tall fence of treated pinewood placed at different heights which gave the idea of a Fort; then when the main door and the garage door were added; both made of rusty sheets of metal with - Apache came out. Building with galvanized sheets is fast and economical and it doesn't require any special maintenance. The most important fact has to do with thermal insulation: a double layer with air in between and all the endings sealed with specific products make this house warm in winter and fresh in summer.
