Seeking an escape from the stress of city life, Andrew Koram Vokis found a dilapidated Greek hill top town house to restore, put his stamp on, and live like a local. Sweet smelling Jasmine and vine are beginning to wrap them selves around the pergola designed to shade the front door. ‘The vine is just embryonic; the interiors now just as I envisaged them, but really I bought the house for the view, ’ he says, with obvious pleasure. It is not difficult to see why. Sunbeams dance over the legendary Aegean blue sea as you sit on the balcony and watch the boats moor up and sail off far below. Unlike an open sea view, there is always some activity to watch in the harbour. Large yachts from Quartar, tall ships from Norway and holiday yachts and the odd fishing boat and water skier’s motor boat, enrich the shifting marine pageantry. It is the perfect place to chill, watch the world go by and enter your nothing box.
