Local natural materials were key to Kris & Corine's sustainable renovation; NL

While the exterior of Kris and Corine's farmhouse in Drenthe is 100 years old, the interiors have recently undergone a sustainable renovation. The walls are filled with straw and plastered with loam, which not only ensures a healthy atmosphere, it also serves as a wonderful insulator, keeping the home cool in summer and warm in winter.
